The heroes of our (very) cheesy burgers

Cheese is sacred.

Just as sacred as our soft buns or our juicy patties… because a Burger without cheese has no interest.
At HUGGYS, cheese is serious business: a real quest for flavours and ultra‑indulgent textures. No joking about that.

Maison REAL: the crème de la crème

We owe a lot to Maison REAL, a true cheese institution in Wallonia. This company, founded in 1946 (yes, that long ago), has accompanied us for years with a sharp selection and an expertise that commands respect. A real family outfit that knows cheese like we know the Burger.
Thanks to them, we’ve gotten our hands on authentic, matured, tasty cheeses that make all the difference in our preparations. Their passion, their seriousness, their love of good products… that’s what allows us to pour rivers of Cheddar into our Burgers.

Cheddar with character

And not just any. The HUGGYS Cheddar is the real deal. A soft Irish Cheddar with plenty of character that lifts the meat just right.
The result: a Burger as juicy as you like.
You’ll find it in a ton of our recipes: our Burgers of course, our melted cheddar nacho sauce, our naughty dirty fries and even in our Meatballs where we slip in plump chunks of Cheddar. The cheesier, the better.

La Meule du Plateau: the sweet madness of Fondance

And then there were other great encounters. Like our tasty collaboration with the Fromagerie La Meule du Plateau in the Herve region. There, Jean‑Marc Cabay realised a completely crazy dream: creating a mountain cheese… in Belgium.
From this slightly utopian project came the Fondance, a raw‑milk cheese rich in aromas and frankly addictive. So good that it won the title of Cheese of the Year in 2022 – basically the Oscars of local cheese. We chose it for our Burger of the Month “Le Montagnard”, which was such a success it almost sold out! Coincidence? We don’t think so.

A (limitless) love for cheese

We love cheese in all its forms: Cheddar, mozzarella, Vacherin fribourgeois, Reblochon…
Our Burgers of the Month often make them the stars:
• Le Tartiflette with real Reblochon de Savoie
• Le Montagnard with its out‑of‑this‑world Fondance
• Le Vacherin with its hint of Swiss fondue
