Hello Burger Fans!

This week I wanted to talk about my colleagues at the Huggy’s Bar. The idea came to me when I spent the evening in my favourite restaurant. Watching them dash about with smiles on their faces I wondered: do they love their jobs as much as I do? Or is it just something waiters do? And if they do, what’s their view of working directly with our customers?

So I played the journalist and went into the field with a simple question: how does it feel to work for The Huggy’s Bar?

DIDIER, nicknamed Papy – Dining‑room manager at THB1

“I’m one of the old‑timers; I started on day 1. I’ve worked in hospitality for decades, I love my job and I love being in the dining room, close to the customers. Right from the start I felt a real connection with the management and a mutual trust. I’ve seen the concept evolve over time; the bosses brim with ideas and it makes for a really stimulating working atmosphere.”

ANNE‑SOPHIE – Student at THB3

“I study physiotherapy and work at Huggy’s one day a week. I’d already worked in hospitality but didn’t have a good memory of it. Here I discovered a young, friendly team and a great atmosphere. The hours aren’t an obstacle either – I finish at midnight at the latest, which is perfect for my rhythm. The only downside is that customers don’t always understand our concept, but it’s getting better 🙂”

“I’ve been with Huggy’s since the early days. I started as a student and worked my way up to manager of the Liège Lemonnier restaurant. What I love most is the team spirit and the fact that everyone helps each other out. I also like the freedom to suggest new ideas and see them come to life.”

“When I started cooking at THB1 I discovered a passion for burgers I didn’t know I had. Working in an open kitchen is motivating because you see customers’ reactions right away. The atmosphere is relaxed and professional at the same time. Plus, the products are top quality, which makes our job easier.”

“For me, Huggy’s is like family. I enjoy contact with customers and the challenge of making sure everyone has a great time. The unlimited fries always make people smile! Working at THB has also taught me to be organised and to listen – skills that serve me well every day.”

THOMAS – Cook at THB4

“My nickname is Judas – don’t ask why! I started as a trainee and stayed because I love the adrenaline of service. What stands out at Huggy’s is the camaraderie: we help each other out and we laugh a lot. I’m proud to work with fresh products and to see customers enjoying themselves.”

KORHAN – Manager of THB3

“Managing a restaurant is demanding, but at Huggy’s you’re never alone. I value the support from head office and the close relationships with other managers. We share advice and best practices. I also appreciate the possibilities for growth; the owners encourage us to develop our skills.”

JOHAN – Cook at THB2

“I’ve always loved cooking and THB allows me to put that passion to good use. The rhythm is intense but that’s what I like. There’s always something to do, new burgers to test and techniques to learn. At the end of the day, seeing satisfied customers is the best reward.”
