Our lost menu gems!
In ten years, the Huggy’s Bar menu has evolved a lot – and thank goodness! As mentioned in our article on our biggest flops, at the beginning we had an endless menu before becoming true burger experts. Even with this specialisation we’ve still had to tweak our menu over the years to continue offering the best burgers in Belgium (those aren’t our words 😇). As a result, some of our beloved gems have been replaced in order to perfect our concept. Here’s a little throwback to the items that disappeared from the menu. 🍔
COCKTAILS 🍹
- Gin&Beer cocktails
Let’s start strong with our gin & beer cocktails! Our drink menu has changed a lot, starting with a list of speciality beers before we created a complete range of house THBeers in collaboration with Brasserie C 🍺. There was a time when we offered you cocktails made with gin and beer. At first we used the classic beers available everywhere, then gradually transitioned to our house beers as the range grew. The marriage of the two alcohols was surprising but delicious. Rumour has it that some staff members still sip them from time to time to remember the good old days. All things considered, we had to admit that their success was mixed and that it was more important to focus on the drinks you love!

STARTERS 🍗
- Fried calamari
When you think of a starter at the Huggy’s Bar the first thing that comes to mind probably isn’t fried calamari. Yet for a while we served crispy rings with tartar sauce. They were a hit with a handful of customers but ultimately they disappeared to make room for our chicken wings, corn ribs and mozzarella sticks. We still think of them fondly.
MAIN COURSES 🍔
- Some burgers of the month
A few Burgers of the Month from past years left an impression but didn’t earn a permanent place. The Bloody Mary Burger, the Foie Gras Burger and even the Mac & Cheese Burger made a brief appearance before disappearing forever. Don’t worry: new creations arrive every month, and who knows – maybe one of them will become an icon!
DESSERTS 🍦
- The THBeer Float
Yes, again! We clearly loved our THBeer Float idea, but you did not. Both as a drink and as a dessert it never managed to win your hearts. So we waved goodbye to this caramelised sorbet and whipped cream on beer combo. But who knows… maybe it will make a comeback one day?
Looking back at these vanished nuggets makes us nostalgic, but we’re also happy to have refined our concept. Thanks for following us on our journey and for trusting our choices – and if you’re ever nostalgic too, share your memories with us!
