If you think a fry is just a fry… think again ! At HUGGYS, we take our fries VERY seriously. As with all our products, we tested, compared, adjusted, changed, changed again… until we found THE perfect fry.

A long road to excellence
At HUGGYS, we’ve always wanted the very best. But before we arrived at the perfect fries we serve today, we had to experiment, adjust, and… we admit we weren’t always on point.
At our beginnings, 13 years ago, we served frozen fries. Yeah, we admit it even if we’re not very proud. It was practical, but clearly not great. Not at all up to our standards or our current values.
Next, we switched to fresh pre‑cooked fries. A real leap forward that confirmed we were heading in the right direction. We still hadn’t found our happiness but from that time on, our decision was made, our fries would stay fresh forever.
Frozen is simpler, less waste, less oil consumption (which accounts for almost 50% of the cost of a fry!) … But for us, simplicity is worthless if it sacrifices taste. And that is non‑negotiable even if it still wasn’t the result we dreamed of.
Then, the revelation: Remo. Belgian Bintje potatoes, handled according to the rules of the art. An insane texture, real flavour, perfect crispness. They are delivered raw and cut thick (13 mm, the ideal balance between crisp and soft). They are cooked every day, to perfection, in each restaurant and according to the Belgian tradition, with a double fry, by our awesome chefs.

Remo: A family with a passion for potatoes
Growing potatoes is one thing. Cultivating them with care, as if they were destined for your own plate, is another. And that’s exactly what the Van Remoortel family has been doing since 1989.
At Remo, potatoes are serious business. No question of buying potatoes at random. They own their own fields, select each harvest and control the entire production chain right up to delivery in our restaurants.
We had the chance to visit their production site and… we were blown away. Ultra‑modern infrastructures, impressive rigour, attention to detail that borders on obsession… All that, for a fry? Yes. And that is precisely what makes all the difference.
The quest for excellence never stops
At HUGGYS, there’s no question of resting on our laurels. Every year, when the new harvest arrives, we start from scratch: we test, we compare, we select the best variety to continue to offer you the ultimate experience.
