Hello Burger Fans
Hello 2023! To kick off the year on the THBlog, here’s an article that’s a little out of the ordinary. You probably know our burger menu by heart and already know what our next Burger of the Month will be, but what about the people who welcome you and cook your delicious burgers? 🤔🍔 We decided to fix that by introducing some of our amazing employees who joined the Huggy’s Family a long time ago.

Dimitri
If you’ve ever been to THB5 in Awans, you’ve surely met our dear Dimitri. Not only is he an outstanding manager, he also supervises our Huggy’s Atelier. Yet nothing predestined this former textile entrepreneur for a career in burger heaven. After an inspiring trip to the United States he ran into one of the Huggy’s founders, confided his desire for change and was offered a trial. He’s never looked back. Today he trains teams, runs the workshop and continues to live his American dream – all with a smile.
Juliette
Next up is our Juliette! In 2016 she wanted so much to work at the Huggy’s Bar that she applied at THB1 and THB4 within 30 minutes. 😂 She eventually settled at THB4, which had just opened its doors. Although she was studying communication at the time, she admits: she’s always loved the atmosphere of our restaurants. Over the years she grew from student job to team leader. Her favourite burger? Anything spicy. Her secret weapon? An infectious good mood that makes our customers feel at home.
Arnaud
You’ve probably already seen Arnaud, our Kitchen Operations Manager, without realising it! He’s a regular face in the videos that play on our screens in the restaurants and in our reels and TikToks. In addition to being a top manager he’s also a natural in front of the camera. He didn’t originally plan a career in hospitality, but after studying cooking he discovered a passion for sharing his knowledge. Today he trains our kitchen teams throughout Belgium and ensures that every burger leaving our pass is worthy of our name.
Julien
Another star of our photo shoots and videos is our Operations Manager, Julien. He joined the Huggy’s adventure long ago, when only our Boulevard d’Avroy restaurant existed. His brother landed an internship there, which made him want to apply as a student. From server he worked his way up through every position until he became Operations Manager. What he loves most? The family spirit of the Huggy’s Bar and seeing newcomers flourish as they did.
Ben
The story between Ben – manager of our Charleroi and Gerpinnes restaurants – and the Huggy’s Bar began long before he joined the team; he was a regular customer at our first restaurant from day one. 🍔🤤 At the time he was working nights in a bar and dreamed of a new challenge. In July 2014 he submitted his CV, took a chance and soon found himself managing not one but two Huggy’s. He loves the adrenalin of service, the satisfaction of a happy customer and the camaraderie of his teams.
Papy
We couldn’t present a panel of legendary employees without talking about our legendary “Papy”, our oldest head waiter. He’s been part of the Huggy’s adventure since our very first restaurant opened. After years in various institutions of the Liège Horeca scene (including 15 years at the Concordia) he brought his experience and good humour to our tables. He knows our regulars by name and still delights in a well‑balanced burger.
There are of course many other fantastic members of the Huggy’s Family, but we hope this snapshot gives you a taste of the people who make your burgers with love every day.
