Hello Burger Fan,
A Burger without fries is like Christmas without presents. Clearly, an essential element would be missing!
That’s why we absolutely have to serve you fries worthy of our Burgers. We’ve put in place an entire internal process that guarantees you’ll taste the crème de la crème of Belgian fries every time you come to HUGGYS.

Step 1: Selection
Every good fry starts with a quality potato! At HUGGYS, we decided long ago that we would work only with the queen of frying potatoes: the bintje! This variety is perfect for making real traditional Belgian fries thanks to its floury and tender flesh which yields a soft interior and a crispy exterior.
Each year, after the new harvest, we test different local growers to select the best bintje.

Step 2: The perfect fry
Once the winning potato is selected, we give it the perfect shape to offer the optimal ratio between a soft interior and a crispy exterior. For us, the ideal size is 14 mm thick, a nice balance between matchstick fries and steak fries. All our restaurants are supplied with raw fries three times a week to guarantee maximum freshness and quality.

Step 3: Cooking
Obviously, as a proudly Belgian restaurant chain, we have to offer fries cooked according to the tradition of double frying! We do a first fry to cook the inside of the fry and make it perfectly soft. How do you know if the inside is cooked? It should crush easily between your fingers. If it crushes easily, the fries are ready for the second fry. Then we perform the second fry to obtain a golden and crispy exterior.

Step 4: Tasting
Once these perfectly golden wonders come out of the fryer, it’s impossible to resist! We advise you to devour them with one of our homemade sauces for a gourmet experience signed HUGGYS.
