
From Burger to Beer with the Brasserie C
The perfect pairing since forever
Some encounters don’t change everything… they change everything we thought possible. Simple moments, over a beer (of course), where the craziest ideas come to life. That’s exactly what happened with our friends at the Brasserie C.
A story of values, passion… and good living
What binds us to Renaud and François, the two brains (and taste buds) behind the Brasserie C, is above all a common vision. They wanted to make a different beer. Ours was a restaurant that reinvents the Burger. Two 100% Liège‑born projects, born of a desire to shake things up. To innovate.
When we met the team from the Brasserie C, we immediately felt that we were speaking the same language. Two young passionate mates who didn’t just brew good beer: they brewed ideas, boldness guided by their entrepreneurial spirit and a good dose of fun. Naturally, it clicked.

Birth of a myth: A beer designed for a Burger (and not the other way around)
Back in 2014. The Huggy’s Bar was booming, and we were surfing the World Cup in Brazil. We launched a Belgian Burger and a cocktail with tropical flavours (the Brazuca, we only half admit ). Thomas, in a fit of taste‑testing, paired the two… and disaster struck. The duo did not work at all.
It was thanks to this little culinary fiasco that a brilliant idea was born: what if we stopped improvising pairings, to create them to measure…
On a sunny afternoon with Renaud and François, we vented our frustration to them: impossible to find THE perfect beer to accompany our Burgers, especially classics that deserve better than a “kind of fit.” Renaud looked at us, shrugged, and casually said: “Why don’t you create that perfect beer?” At that moment, our brains exploded. And a certainty was born: we had our next crazy project. The project was launched!
Together, we imagined an amber, generous beer with that little American twist thanks to Cluster hops. A touch of caramel, a light bitterness, a real presence in the mouth: the first HUGGYS BEER was born. And it wasn’t just a new beer. It was the first in the world designed to pair perfectly with a Burger. True story.

Competition brews & recipes with character
Since then, we’ve taken the concept even further. With each new beer, it’s the same recipe: a team‑building at the Brasserie C, 4 teams, 4 recipes… a single winner and maximum pride. We work (okay, we also have fun), we taste, we debate, we vote for THE best beer. It’s like Top Chef, malt and yeast edition.
The HUGGYS BEERS
Today, we’ve got 8 house beers, all created as a team, with love, sweat and meticulous tastings. And to guarantee the perfect pairing, we even work with a zythologist. Our objective: for each Burger to have its hoppy alter ego to elevate every bite.

Brasserie C we love you, truly (and for a long time)!
From our first staff days spent chilling in their brewery, to collectible limited‑edition beers, via our craziest ideas (hello our Bacon Beer) – the Brasserie C has always been there.
HUGGYS without beer pairing is like a Burger without fries. Possible, but so much less cool. It has become our signature. So no need for grand declarations. Just deep respect and a huge pleasure to continue writing this chapter together.
