Hello Burger Fans,

As at every end of the year, we like to turn around and admire the work accomplished. The projects completed. The extraordinary people we’ve met. It feels good to take a step back, lift our head off the handlebar and say to ourselves: “Wow. That’s also what Huggy’s Bar is!”

Because more than just making the Best Burgers in town, Huggy’s Company is developing day by day and working hard to offer its fans original, high‑quality and unique products. Yes, behind all that there is a HUGE army of little soldiers who work hard and give 100% to their job.

In short, enough talking, I'm running out of breath… Let’s look back at an emotional year 😊

At the beginning of the year, the brand’s staff (meaning: Research & Development, Marketing, Projects departments… to name just a few!) moved back into its “apartments” in Awans and settled in a green setting. Plenty to hatch some grand ideas!

The first big – HUGE – new development in April 2017: the creation of Huggy’s Dogs, proud little brother of THB. Our new baby, specializing in gourmet Hot Dogs, was born on Rue Pont d’Avroy and has already conquered the hearts of many people in Liège with its 7 gourmet, homemade Hot Dogs.

The second big new development, announced in May: nos 8 bières maison, alias les THBEERS, brewed in collaboration with Brasserie C. Always in the spirit of “homemade” and local, it was obvious for us to partner with the most renowned brewery in Liège, with whom we had already created the brilliant THBEER. And since these strong‑character beers deserved a special welcome, we worked hand in hand with the Verviers illustrator, Gaspard Talmasse, to give them an identity all their own… Job done with this mural that recalls “The Last Supper” 😉

Some Burgers that will stick in your memory… And taste buds! The premier Sushi Burger in Belgium, created in close collaboration with Attrap’Sushi, and a Waffle Burger in October that recalls the famous New‑York brunch. Not to mention the Texas, Homi, Raclette… We didn’t hold back. Not our style!

In October, we inaugurated our TWO Brussels restaurants: one on Avenue Louise, the other on Rue Jourdan. It was a huge step to leave our comfortable, welcoming Liège region, but our arrival in Brussels immediately reassured us: the people of Brussels are as nice as the people of Liège 😉

Going from innovation to innovation, we also launched our take‑out ordering service, via the chatbot “Ask Emma”, on Messenger. Clever Emma, she will guide you step by step in ordering your Burger, to be picked up in our restaurants… And to be able to serve you even better, we opened a kitchen specially dedicated to delivery (Deliveroo) and take‑out (Ask Emma), right in the centre of the “fiery city”… When you love, you don’t count!

All the while, hidden in the shadows… We were writing, with our friends from the Editions de la Province de Liège, our very first cookbook: the THBOOK. A collection of stories and anecdotes, we also looked back on our Success Story before revealing some of our secret recipes… Let’s just say, a dream came true at THB…

And to end the year with a flourish of trumpets and streamers, we were selected to take part in the Liégeois of the Year 2017. A crowning moment!
