PokéMania is raging
Hello Burger (or Pokémon) Fans…
Are you one of those people who never miss an opportunity to whip out their smartphone and track virtual creatures everywhere? Or are you one of those who don't understand this childish craze and, in any case, couldn’t care less?!

Whether you’re into it or not, PokéMania over the past few weeks has been gaining ground, and goes well beyond a little evening walk in the Parc de la Boverie or stopping by the PokéStop at Passage Lemonnier to top up on PokéBalls. Yes, because today things are serious: PokéMania has taken over the entire planet, and even the Burger world!
In Sydney a handsome tanned blond surfer (yes, we are talking about an Australian, ladies!) launched his “range” of Pokémon Burgers for a limited number of weeks. The idea? Ride the media coverage by creating 3 burgers in the image of 3 popular Pokémon: Pikatchu, Salamèche and Bulbizarre (Too cool, I caught one just this morning!).
“The flavours and ingredients vary according to the style, the character and the colour of the Pokémon,” explains Ben Kagam (yes, still that handsome bronzed Australian).

The manager of the establishment says that Bulbizarre is the “lightest and healthiest” Burger: thanks to its green colour, salad and green vegetables are the main ingredients. Salamèche, a fire Pokémon, is rather spicy with a cheese reminiscent of a lava flow. Pikachu, meanwhile, is “the least diet‑friendly, it contains fries”, and makes us melt with his nacho ears <3
Hold back your tears because we’ve found two BIG drawbacks:
- First drawback, your PokéBurger will be offered to you at random. Frustration of the highest order for a passionate trainer…
- Second drawback, your flight to Sydney may cost you an arm and a leg (just saying…)
Rest assured, our Burgers may not look like Pokémon, but you’ll be able to catch plenty on the way to the restaurant… We’re just too cool at Huggy’s Bar.
