2015, year of the Burger
Hello Burger Fans.
We wish you an excellent 2016, full of joy, success and Burgers of course!

As we told you ici, 2015 was a great year for us. But not only!
2015 also left its mark on the restaurant world with the rise of our beloved Burger.
For example, in France, more than 1 billion Burgers were consumed last year. (Oh yeah baby !!)
In fact, 70 % of traditional restaurants today offer at least one Burger on their menu.
So inevitably every chain tries to stand out, and that produced some out‑of‑the‑ordinary creations in 2015.
In summer, the Japanese chain Mos Burger offered in a pop‑up store a Burger where the bun was replaced by tomato. Ok it’s lighter, but does it make you want to try it?

A little later, KFC China came up with the unusual idea of offering a limited‑edition Burger with a candy‑pink bun… To reconnect with its female customers who tended to abandon Burgers for lighter food. Hmm, personally it doesn’t make us want to pounce on it squealing and jumping on our 12‑cm heels but oh well…

And then of course the great classic Halloween Burgers, which we already talked about ici, such as Burger King's Halloween Whopper.

The year ended with a whole series of Christmas Burgers, created by both the big chains and the small restaurants. Our award goes to Byron and their Father Cheesemas: a magnificent Burger made of two generous beef patties, the famous Freddar bacon cheese (a recipe by chef Fred Smith, with mature Cheddar, Monterey and Gran Padano, all sprinkled with bits of bacon), pancetta chips, chipotle sauce and salad. For the occasion it was served with Holy Macaroni (macaroni gratin with green chilli).

And then of course, in 2015, McDonald’s offered us many, many versions, variations, improvements and innovations around the Burger. See for yourselves:

And you, do you have any innovative Burger ideas to test in 2016? Share your ideas with us in the comments!
Until then, enjoy your meal!
