What makes a good burger?
Hello Burger Fans.
We hope you’re doing well and that all you little lovers had a lovely Valentine’s Day.

Today we’re giving you some tips to answer THE question of a lifetime (after “Will you marry me?”): what makes a good burger?
Because NO, a delicious burger isn’t created in the blink of an eye! Several elements need to come together to achieve a result as perfect as this:

The bun
The bun is obviously a key ingredient in the quality of a burger. Always choose an artisanal bun. Depending on your taste, go for a slightly brioche or traditional bun. The main thing is that it’s crispy on the outside with a soft and airy crumb inside.

The meat
The meat most often used in burgers is beef. We warmly recommend opting for 100% pure minced beef from your butcher. The meat will be healthy, flavourful, with lots of taste and little fat.
If you’re not a fan of red meat, don’t hesitate to go for white meats or fish – but the watchword should always be freshness and quality.

The cheeses
The star cheese of our beloved burger is Cheddar. It’s an English cow’s milk cheese from the town of Cheddar with a rather pronounced flavour that intensifies over time. We beg you, NEVER EVER USE PROCESSED CHEESE SLICES. That’s NOT cheese! Choose mature block cheddar and slice it yourself – it will reveal all the aromas of your burger.
Here too, nothing stops you from being creative and choosing another cheese (mozzarella, abbey cheese, raclette cheese, goat cheese, etc.). Choose a cheese from the cheese counter – you buy only the amount you need and the quality is guaranteed.

The garnishes
Burgers are usually served with one or two vegetables: tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onion rings, mushrooms… Pick your favourites and make sure everything is fresh and properly prepared (wash and cut your vegetables on the day).
The sauce
To finish off your burger in style, choose a good sauce! Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, barbecue, tartar, blue cheese… there’s something for everyone. You can easily make them yourself to avoid any unnecessary additives.
The side dishes
To make a burger worthy of the name, accompany it with crispy fries, potato rösti, homemade coleslaw or a small salad. This will round off your meal perfectly.
There you have it, you now know what makes a good burger. All that’s left is for you to invite your loved ones over for a homemade burger or to drop by Huggy’s to enjoy one of our burgers with unlimited fries and coleslaw.
